I cannot thank enough The Arts Hotel in Paddington for their excellence, particularly Mark the manager for his unfailing patience and assistance.
5 minutes’ walk from the amazing St Vincent's Hospital, they are catering currently for few patients and relatives when in happier times many more would use their garden pool patio and facilities.
They have a most comprehensive folder of local historic walks, eateries, watering holes & tourist travels to the Blue Mountains......
With their kind staff and perfectly clean & adequate facilities in their rooms we will certainly use The Arts Hotel for our visits. The prices are extremely good value: just compare with Sir Stamford, and more expensive hotels now brought in for Covid control.

Located at the far end of Oxford Street away from hustle and bustle yet close enough to dip in and out. Small reception with pleasant staff. Comfortable room, bijou yet adequate. Small shower en-suite served its purpose, good pressure on shower. Comfortable bed. No breakfast option but given a 10% off voucher to use at local establishment. Small central courtyard with seating and a decent sized pool. Great sun trap as no high rise buildings to block out sun, unlike hotels in CBD. A little shabby but room for improvement. CBD, Hyde Park etc within a 20-30 minute walk. Cheap and cheerful.

A group of 12 family and friends stayed in as a base to visit Sydney. It was a great location to travel around the city, small but modern rooms that do the job perfectly. The Manager Mark, Ali and the other receptionists go above & beyond to help guests and make sure they have the best stay possible. Every time I passed reception they were giving travel directions etc. Nothing is too much trouble & very rare see this high level of services these days. There is small garden area & pool.

You can visit the bar next door and receive 10% discount. Don’t be alarmed on arrival by the exterior of the building, as the warm welcome will more than make up for this.

The Arthouse Kitchen (nothing to do with the hotel round the corner is great for breakfast. A petrol station with shop is nearby.

For the location we’d thought the room rate too good to be true so we’re very pleasantly surprised by both the standard of the property and the very good service. We were staying in the original part of the property (there appeared to be a newer wing recently or under construction).

+ Oxford St location and very easy walking distance into the CBD

+ Very friendly and helpful staff

+ Swimming pool and outdoor retreat

+ Comfortable bed

+ Mini fridge in room

- Airconditioning was noisy, laboured and ineffective (a quick inspection of the dust filter at the end of the trip revealed a completely clogged filter which I suggest was the reason it was operating so poorly - if we were to have the same experience again next stay this would definitely result in a lower rating)

- A general feeling of heavy wear and tear. While the rooms in the older wing were clean, they could definitely use a refurb/refresh

- Walls are relatively thin. We did not experience a problem however noisy neighbours would be painful

Thanks to the Arts’ team for a pleasant stay!

This hotel was in great location with walking distance to Paddington markets and shops. It is opposite a great cafe/bookshop which serves amazing food. They also offer 10% discount for food and drinks at bar next to hotel. The room was fairly quiet. Unfortunately the person prior to me must have been a smoker as the room had remnants of this in room. It overlooked the back courtyard. I did not venture out to courtyard, but looked nice if had been warmer weather. The staff were friendly and helpful. On check-in it didn't highlight that you have to pay $100 off your credit card until end of stay where this will be reversed. I am used to credit card being swiped as security for check-in so a wee surprise. Unfortunately still waiting for bank to process a week later.
The room is good, clean and the shower pressure good. No issues with WiFi and TV in room.
Overall good place to stay for location and friendly staff. Courtyard and pool would be nice in summer. Apart from surprise by money taken off for stay, was good time.
