We booked a "normal" room but upon arrival it turned out to be a small room with a very small bed. The WIFI didn't work, the television had almost no channels. The bathroom was not clean, every night worms came out of the drain. When I first saw the room, I felt like crying. You leave on holiday to have a good time, not to be in an old, not renovated room.
So I went to the reception and expressed my concerns. I asked for another room but the woman at the desk said the hotel was totally full. The next day I spoke with the manager that said that we could move to another room in a couple days, but that we had to pay 50 euro per night extra. We did not take the "offer" because I was not so keen on moving after a couple days and didn't feel like spending another 200 euros. The rooms are supposed to be correct for everybody. The manager didn't agree, he said that we really booked the worst room of the hotel and that we should have booked a suite with private swimming pool. This is not a normal reaction. They didn't do anything for us anymore.
The restaurant was crowded, but the food was fair. The waiters were friendly.
The swimming pool was not heated, so very cold, but that is normal. The indoor swimming pool was freezing cold what is not normal to me. Indoor means normally that it is supposed to be heated. Unfortunately.
Avoid this hotel! There are lots of better hotels in Crete for this price.
Wonderful views from our mountainside, luxury room, accessed by golf buggy, great fun. Super location and excellent staff. Attention to detail, cleanliness, friendliness and excellent facilities made this a memorable and enjoyable stay. The professionalism of the staff during the Thomas Cook was very impressive. We would like to go back!
We turned up without a booking and were allocated a smart junior suite at a reasonable price of £148 half board. The hotel has an all inclusive option and on the evening we stayed the young English couple next door had taken full advantage! That aside, food was commensurate with price paid and the views stunning.
Have been staying here for over 7yrs now and we just love it,From the cleaners to the managers everyone is kind,help-full and very friendly,The hotel sits just outside of Elounda and looks across the bay /harbour with just stunning views all around ,It is clean/tidy with good food,Very hard working staff and excellent service all round .the staff both in the resturant and bars are just brilliant. We got married in Elounda this year and the staff decorated our room and just made me and my wife feel just so special....It was just an amazing time as it has been for the previous 6yrs ...We hope to return again but our fantastic time was tinged with a little sadness on our return as my new wife was one of the many who lost her job with Thomas Cook on our return to England,She had done 12yrs service at the Head Office..But it will not distract us from our amazing wedding and stay at the Elounda Blu...Well done all of you from Carl and Julie x
We are on our last day at the four star Elounda Blu we have been here for nearly three weeks. I cannot praise the staff more highly for their courtesy, kindness and efficiency in looking after us. The hotel is immaculately clean everywhere. the service in the restaurant is spot on there is plenty of choice in the dishes served at all meals.
We had a view to die for from our room and the weather is always good in the summer. Hoping to return next year may they rise from the ashes of Thomas Cook
