On our family trip to Italy we spent four days at the resort.
The resort was located a couple of km from the beach. It is preferred to have access to a car if you will visit different sites in the region.
The hotell was quiet and relaxed. It was clean and well maintained. All guests needed to wear swim hud when taking a swim in the pool.
What can I say ? It's a perfect location for active but not people-packed summer holiday. We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute of it. Very clean and spacious room with kitchenette (ground floor with optional outside terrace) with all the equipment you might need for cooking. Plenty of sport activities to avail of (3 pools, tennis courts, bike rental, gyms etc.) Not crowded at all - even though hotel seemed close to full capacity there was never a problem with loungers and pools were close to empty at times (a little busier at weekends). Excellent restaurant on site as well. The kids club run 4 session throughout the day 6 days a week and my daughter (9) loved it - the girls there speak only little English but they were very welcoming and helpful and the language was not an issue at all. There is also a small shop on site as well as washing facilities (at additional cost). Fantastic location for sightseeing, wine, food or a day on the beach (3 nice beaches available within 5 km radius). Overall highly recommended !! We'll be coming back for sure :)
We chose this place of several reasons. We are a family of 6, and wanted space, training facilities for a swimmer, and access to a nice restaurant. Two apartment adjoint gave us what we needed space vice. The balcony, although private, as we wished for, was a bit to warm from mid day until afternoon. There should have been an umbrella. The balcony was dirty at arrival. We ask for cleaning, and they came only with a broom an swept it. We still had to wear shoes there. Except of the balcony, the place was clean. Do note that it is not cleaned within a 2 weeks stay, only change of linen and towels once a week. You need a car to stay here, but the beach can be reached by foot (15 min walking) The Baratti beach is nice. The restaurants in the area does not live up to what they promise. You must drive to Piombino (20minutes) to find Nice restaurants. The pool area is clean and safe! Even in high season there are always beds available. The restaurant has nice food, but has limitation in opening-hours and at the time we stayed bad capacity problems. A family of 6 is obviously a big group for them so We had to book the day before or early the same day. Often we got a table late in the evening. In high season and with only one restaurant available in walking distance, this should not close from 15-19. Although the restaurant was never fully seated, the staffing or maybe the kitchen capacity gave us difficulties with getting a table at a time we wanted. Even the rigidness that you have to decide in the morning when you want to have dinner, is not very flexible or relaxing. Some of the staff had limited English, and this caused them to get orders wrong. When serving 6 people at the same table, it should be obvious that this group wants to eat together. That never happened. We ate at the restaurant 5-6 nights of 14, and every-time one or more of us had the food much later than the others. Normal curtesy is also to come back to the table after the customer have tasted the food, to hear if anything is missing and that everything is fine. That never happened at this restaurant. I can’t tell if the place is short staffed or just poorly managed. Most nights we ended up getting takeout. They deliver pizza within 5-10 minutes. The pizzas are big and tasty. This is a place We would not have return to 5-6 times, if there was any other options. Even though the food is nice, the service is not impressive. The solution with a big roof over the terrace also made it noisy and unwelcoming, like a big eating hall. Game boards right outside the restaurant also made it a noisy experience when seated on that side the football tables where placed, Look to Geovillage, Olbia (Sardinia). Their solutions for restaurants are great. On trip advisor and Google maps it also looks like the place has to restaurants. This is not the case. There is an indoor restaurant in wintertime and the La terazza is the only option in summer time! It might be different for full board customers. We had a nice stay at Poggio All’agnello, but it became more self-service (cooking and cleaning) than Originally planned.
I was kindly greeted at the Reception and taken to my room on the other side of the property in a golf cart, while also given a tour of where I could find the restaurant and pool. The room was nicely prepared and very clean. With the windows open you could have a nice cool breeze in the summertime. I enjoyed a nice cold beer at the bar after a long day at the beach and a filling buffet breakfast the next morning at the restaurant. Great service, a wonderful location just 20 minutes walking to the beach and a lovely stay overall. Thanks!
This is a former factory turned into a resort, very beautifuly located.
All apartments have fully equipped kitchens and the spaces are quite generous, not only inside, but outdoors too.
Olympic swimming pool, two other smaller pools, tennis and other sports available, fitness room.
Very pleasant experience, I would only have to point out two details that I didn't like. First, there is no cleaning service once you're lodged, no change of towels or bed sheets. Second, if you don't arrive by car you are limited to staying in the resort, the nearest beach is too far to go walking, but there is a rent-a-bike service inside the resort.
