I was somewhat unimpressed by the property.
Whilst the location is quite good, the property is really only 2.5 star.
There is no fridge in the rather small room. Bathroom amenities are poor - for example there are no facial tissues. The shower is in the bath, it's not a stand alone shower. The air conditioner can not be adjusted to your desired temperature. I also found noise from other rooms/hallway to be a bit annoying.
Simple room, no safe, no minibar and fridge but an extra door between entrance space and room which shields from any corridor noise, that's the detail I liked most.
Good breakfast buffett. The location 200 m from the Mainz S-Bahn station Römisches Theater is very practical,- lines 8 and 9 (train) from the airport take 20 -30 mins for only EUT 4,95. The Hotel is centrally located, it's only a short walk to the center with its cathedral and shopping center.
The hotel is clean, familiar and pretty much what you'd expect from an Ibis. The atmosphere could be a little more friendly - a bit more welcoming, however. There was no parking available when we arrived - we had to go to a large multi-storey place close by - and there was still none for our second night. Disappointing. While the room was obviously clean and in good condition the bed seemed smaller than other Ibis hotels I have stayed in. The big plus is the location - a less than 5 minutes walk to the river and the same to the old city.
Within walking distance of everything I wanted to do in Mainz, this hotel definitely met my requirements. I saw quite a few tour groups staying over as well. The check in went smoothly with friendly staff.
Room was comfortable and they have lifts which is a big help when you arrive with luggage.
Good cafeteria style breakfast with a wide variety of food and drink. Just remember to clear your own dishes afterwards.
They have a room where you can store your luggage after check out and were friendly enough to organise a taxi for me when I retrieved my luggage
Altogether a good stay and definitely recommended
