I have no complaints. Spacious room with plenty of hot water and good water pressure in shower, soap, shampoo and even a toothbrush and toothpaste, large plush towels, complimentary bottled water in the refrigerator along with some snacks, comfortable bed. Centrally located on a Main Street with plenty of eating options - oh yes, and a complimentary breakfast which, other than the instant coffee (con agua o leche) was delicious and satisfying. We did not observe anyone taking advantage of the pool and we were busy with other activities and didn’t care to use it either. The staff was pleasant and helpful. 5 stars hands down.

One of the best stays on this trip. I landed in Macas without a reservation. First tried Guayusu, which was shut, then came to Casa Blanca. Got a single for USD. 25 with breakfast. Big room overlooking the garden, ensuite bathroom, hot water great. WiFi. It's a family run place, and has a homely feel. They recommended Tsuirim agency which organised an overnight trip into the forest and stay with a Shuar family. I stored my belongings with them including valuables while away on the trip. They even helped dry my shoes. Highly recommend and wish had stayed longer.

I was given a comfortable double room for just me with a bathroom at the back of the hostel overlooking the garden and pool - didn't have time to use it. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful and even though it wasn't a hostel per se (more a hotel), they let me use their fridge, make myself tea and were generally very accommodating. They provided breakfast outside of their normal hours when I was going on an early morning trip and helped me with my luggage and called me a taxi.
