Our experience is ok, I guess it's all depende on the room that you are booking. This is RCI vacation property - timeshare. There are multiple owners. You can book it through the Airbnb and it will be probably cheaper than booking it directly.
I booked at Club Balai for my friends and I (group of 6) at the rate of P8,000++ / night since the resort staff, which I am communicating with via email, told me that the rate would include "free" waterpark tickets for 6. To give context, the rate published on their website, for the same room and same date, was only a bit over P6,000. However, I chose to book the P8,000++ via email given the aqua park tickets inclusion promised.
Once we arrived at Club Balai, the reception staff told us that the water park is closed. We decided to check the water park and it seemed like it was non-operational for quite some time as a lot of the inflatables were already deflated. I was SUPER DISSAPOINTED since I really believe that the resort staff knows that the Aqua Park won't be operational on that weekend (I just booked 4 days before our stay), yet she still let me book for a higher-priced rate promising aqua park tickets, when I could have just booked the same room at the same date at P2,000++ lower!! Should she have told me that the Aqua Park was closed, I would definitely book for the lower price rate since we actually went there to try out the water park. They compensated us with a 30-minute massage for all 6 pax in exchange for the tickets but this doesn't change the fact that I felt that they just wanted us to pay for a higher price than the published rates online.
PLUS, check-in time was at 3pm, which is quite late compared to most resorts, yet we got checked-in at 3:30pm as the room wasn't fixed on time. Then once we got to the room, the toiletries and other items weren't complete. There weren't towels and floor mats included, toilet paper was less than half of the full roll, not even bothering to refill it for the next guests. We had to go to the reception just to ask for towels as there was no telephones in the rooms.
On another note, the room was not so bad, it was a good size for 6 pax and there were 3 pools which seemed clean and well-maintained. However, due to our experience, we will never go back to this resort and will not even recommend it to others.
We were a group of 9, 6 adults with three kids. We took 2 lake side rooms. Since we had two seniors with us, they have kindly assigned us to rooms on the ground floor. Club Balai Isabel is a big property, many options for leisure activities i.e. biking, swimming in three pools scattered in the property and water park with the big inflatables on the lake. We did all three.
I hope they would strictly implement weaeing only swimwear at the pools though. We saw some guests in t-shirts, it ruins the nice vibe and exclusivity feel of the place.
They however have an amazing restaurant, buffet dinner is worth its price. Our package was inclusive of breakfast buffet. Nothing beats having breakfast with a view of the Taal Lake as a backdrop! Plus the food was amazing, as they make use and serve fresh local produce. Kapeng barako, is as authentic as it gets! Love the tawilis!
Our kids especially enjoyed the waterpark, 1 hour activity is just enough to enjoy the whole experience. At night, we took advantage of their spa massage services. Fairly priced, plus gives you an option to have the massage done in your room. We chose that option for our parents, while my husband and I went to the massage villa to enjoy the whole ambience. It is very private, as there are separate huts for it with a/c. It would have been nicer though if guests can choose their massage oil.
The lakeside room is large, with two queen sized beds. It has it's mini kitchen, it's own balcony and a fair sized bathroom. Other than the small soap and shampoo, that's pretty much it, so bring your own toiletries still i.e. your toothbrush.
Overall, it was a good weekend to spend with the family at Club Balai Isabel. Not all too crowded as the property is large and they have an organized queueing system when checking in and out.
No internet though for most areas except when at the Reception hut, but it is a get away after all! Just savour the moment of enjoying each other's company!
I like the hotel/resort environment, closer to nature, so many fruit bearing trees, quiet and secured place, and the sound of waves has calming effect while resting at Lakefront veranda. There are so many activities to choose here.
You can rent a bike or play basketball, tennis and billiards. But if you opt for water activities, they offerred a lot, like jetski, banana boat and they have Aquapark too.
The room has clean beddings, with coffemaker and complimentary bottled water. Bathroom was okay with hot & cold shower, except that no bidet attached to the bowl, there's tissue though but knowing pinoys, they should at least provide "tabo".
I will recommend Lakefront rooms for the family, the taal lake view was awesome.
I love the huge Kumintang Pool- with 4 to 7 feet deep and stand by lifeguards.
The food at Terraza's (restaurant inside the resort) was delicious, a bit pricey but worth it. Service was superb, special mention to Karl, one of the super sipag and super accommodating staff of the restaurant.
Overall, we had an enjoyable and memorable stay here, im glad i was able to booked their Rain Drops Rate drops at 50% off.
We celebrated my wife’s 40th birthday here and we had great time.
Stayed here last June 5-7, 2019 @ Banga 404, we have a superior family room, love the loft by the way.
A room birthday set up was arranged, all requests was done accordingly.
A dinner by the beach set up was also arranged, this is the highlight of our stay.
Club balai is a huge property and the sunset view of taal is superb. They have water activities such as jet ski, banana boat, kayak and aqua park. Biking is also available. They also have an e-car service with in the property.
Wifi is available at the resto and front desk.
Club balai is good for people who wants a laid back environment. Not so may resto outside of Club Balai and closing time is 9pm, the nearest is with-in Tagaytay area.
Things that Club Balai Isabel needs to improve on:
1. Telephone on rooms is a must.
2. TV screens is kinda small and reception is bad.
3. Secured wifi on each room is also a must.
Things that Club Balai Isabel is commendable:
1. Friendly and welcoming security and staff
2. Eco-friendly environment.
3. Value for money buffet.
Special mention to the ff people:
1. Jeanne of reservations for our room, room set-up and dinner by the beach set-up.
2. Nicko our server for the night, good job.
3. Arnnie of front desk, sweet smile and very accomodating.
Definitely we will be back.
