Staff are very friendly and helpful with any information we needed about the Island. Room was clean, self catering. Beautiful gardens, pool and BBQ area with toddler bikes and games available. Short walk to beach, some cafes and eateries.

The Anchorage is a medium-sized motel at the west edge of Point Lookout. The rooms are adequately furnished at a basic level. There is a nice salt-water pool. The cost is roughly 160 AUD per night, depending on the room's location; higher floors have higher prices. The operators are helpful and friendly.

I have two complaints. Firstly, the WiFi is quite inadequate. The router is in the motel office and there are no boosters to spread the signals to rooms, so the only strong signals are just outside the motel office. Secondly, the motel advertises that it is closer to the beach than any other hotel. This is not exactly true. The Stradbroke Hotel is at least as close to the beach. The Anchorage is about 30-40 meters from the beach and separated from it by trees and shrubs. One cannot actually see the beach from the motel rooms; one can see trees.

The beaches at Point Lookout are utterly superb! Some of the best we have seen anywhere.

Beautiful beachfront location with direct beach access via boardwalk from units. Units are 3 levels, there is no lift so be mindful of the stairs. Pool has been revamped, extremely clean and well looked after. Units are clean, airy and have plenty of cutlery, plates etc. Good size fridge. BBQ area as well. Managers on site and extremely helpful and accommodating, walking distance to bowls club & Tillers. Definately be staying there again next year.

lovely motel spacious rooms, king bed would have been lovely, beautiful outdoor areas, pool and bbq areas throughout complex, short stroll to beach along designated boardwalk. Eatery next to motel has excellent food, foreign workers are a bit short on the english language though. Complementary live music added to the beach atmosphere....even though the motel rooms are a bit dated it only enhanced the feel for island living.

Enjoyed our stay in a 3 bed unit with ocean views and whale watching from the balcony.
Great location with boardwalk beach access. Very clean pool and bbq area. Approximately 30 min walk to cafes and gorge walk.

The pool is not heated but holds a good temperature 10 months of the year as it is north facing and is heated by the sun. June & July we occasionally have guests swimming in the pool but they are normally from colder countries!
