From start to finish the service is superb and this place without a doubt has everything for the ideal oceanside stay on Straddie. The manager (owner?) gave me helpful advice that I didn't know to ask for when I called to book and the service continued at this level during our stay. The property is connected to the beautiful beach by a short boardwalk, the views are wonderful and the rooms are comfortable and very clean. Each room has a reserved covered parking spot. We will definitely stay there next time we are on Straddie.

We had friends visiting from Germany and took them to North Stradbroke island for a long weekend. We booked the Anchorage because of its location and the 2 bedroom apartment was still available at a reasonable price. The apartment was somewhat older but it had all the facilities we needed and the kitchen was fully equipped. The beach (Main Beach) close to the apartment was not great for swimming, so we went to Cylinder Beach instead, which was only a few minutes drive. Too bad we didn't have sea view as it was blocked by trees. But you could hear the waves from the balcony. The managers were a lovely couple as well. One negative thing: the Italian restaurant attached to the complex took forever to bring our meals and they only had 3 tables. The tuna steak we ordered was more than well-done, even though the waitress said it should be cooked medium rare (which is what we preferred too). The dessert that we chose was apparently a best seller, but it was an old pancake heated up in the microwave and topped with ice cream and synthetic chocolate sauce. Not recommended. There are heaps of better places to eat on Straddie.

Staff are very friendly and helpful with any information we needed about the Island. Room was clean, self catering. Beautiful gardens, pool and BBQ area with toddler bikes and games available. Short walk to beach, some cafes and eateries.

From the moment I called so see if a room was available I felt valued. (We had checked into another hotel and it was not up to scratch so we asked and after some stress got a refund.)
We walked into our room at The Anchorage and it sparkled!
Lovely decor beautifully clean and a beautiful balcony.
The sound of the waves was magical.
The kitchen was very well appointed and the little dishwasher a gem!
The internet is wonderful we did not have any drop outs. YAY!
We had the best time and are planning another visit asap!
Highly recommend!!!!
