This hotel has the most amazing athmosphere. The room is modern and comfortable and has everything you need. The hotel’s restaurant is the same. It has so nice waiters and we had the best dinners here. Totally recommend to stay here at least 1-2 nights and you should try their sword fish souvlaki and the lemon pie. We are planning to come back one day. :)
A warm welcome awaited me on my arrival here in April despite Nina being in the throws of a family wedding!
My little cabin was so charming, light and airy. A basic room with twin beds, a fridge air con and a bathroom with shower.
Bottled water, melba toast and jam, tea bags, coffee and a kettle for self catering and Nina provided water daily and also popped round with muffins.
The bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean.
There was a lovely little patio attached to the cabin.
I loved the location though it is not in a particularly touristy spot but was handy for cafes and a supermarket, local buses to Corfu town or up the coast and a large marina with restaurants and bars round the corner.
I hired a bike to reach the beaches which are about 10 minutes walk away and the sea is very safe, shallow and warm without currents in this area.
This was a handy location for travelling to town to take boat trips. I opted for a sail to Paxos.
I would like to return here for more than 5 days to explore the island and take a trip to Albania which looms above the coast and is only a stone's throw away.
If you are travelling on a tight budget I can highly recommend this place. Nina Is a marvellous host and interested in her visitors travels and experiences.
As a solo traveller it was ideal: I felt safe and welcome in Kontokoli.
The only problem I had on this trip was with mosquitos. Within the cabin it was fine as Nina provides electric mosquito repellents. However, although I got many bites from sitting out in the evenings (they bit between the Deet stripes!) I did not have any infected bites or any ill effects.
Had a superb stay at the Takis Family Resort in Kontokali. Nina and family were lovely hosts. Our room was just as it had been advertised. Very typical Greek-style accommodation, basic, no fuss or frills, but perfectly comfortable.
We had everything there that we needed. There was crockery and cutlery supplied if we wanted to eat on the terrace. Coffee, milk and water more than enough to make sure our first morning started in a good way rather than with a rush to the nearest supermarket. Nina dropped off extra bottles of water and banana muffins (thank you!) during our stay too which was unexpected, but appreciated.
Our room had a fridge, air conditioning and a very decent bathroom with a good shower. Plus we had a lovely terrace where we sat and watched the fireflies flitting around the garden at night.
Couldn't fault it. Had fantastic time. Would stay there again tomorrow
