Me and my family were looking for a place to go and stay for the winter holidays. I came across this place by searching on YouTube. We stayed in a deluxe cottage . We were offered the water ones but I preferred the normal ones. Also we wanted to stay together. Me my husband and my 2 kids shared one room and by 2 nephews had the room next door. The deluxe cottage comes with 2 rooms in one cottage. It was a good choice as the balcony you could only see land and trees. The cottage itself was very clean. The bathroom was spotless. The decoration of the room and bathroom was very nice. My favorite was the step in the front of the cottage and the balcony. So serene and calm. The cottage was surrounded by just greenery and tress very well maintained it was really clean. It’s hard to find places in bangladesh that don’t have litter on the ground so this place was exceptional.

Coming on to the facility’s of the inn. The swimming pool was very big but unfortunately the water was very dirty. We found bugs in the water. There was no one at the swimming pool office to offer us life jackets or swimming rings we collected It ourselves.

There is a very big kid zone. My son got to play inside once as afterwards they were painting it and didn’t allow anyone else to go in. It was a shame as I went there especially for that.

If want food you have to order your food before and then they make it for you it takes about an hour to cook, it was a bit annoying as we were starving. The restaurant food was very disappointing. I ordered Thai soup, wonthon, chicken with mushroom, beef with oyster sauce and sizzling prawn, special fried rice. The soup, wonthon, sizzling prawn, special fried sauce was ok but the chicken and the beef was disgusting. I think the food was a bit pricey for what you get. While we were there we ordered our dinner. We ordered naan, tandoori, beef curry and raita. Dinner was good compared to lunch. On another note the complimentary breakfast was excellent! They had luchi, roti, vegetable, omelet, pose eggs, noodles, a dessert, fresh juices, hot drinks. The free food was better than the food we paid for surprisingly . My advice would be to order there Bengali food.

The other facilities in the inn consist of a badminton court but beware a flower will cost you 100 taka. They have rackets for you if you want to play. It’s a nice court. They also have a small lake you can go on the paddling boats. My son really enjoyed that.

Although in front of the cottages there is a sign board that states only room guests. Outside people happily walk around taking pictures . I find that quite annoying. What’s the point in paying for the cottage if I don’t have privacy? I have come here to relax not to be in peoples pictures. Another annoying thing is that they play rabindra sangeet the whole day through their microphones. I think it ruins the mood of the place.

One of things which was my favorite was that the whole place lights up at night. It really is beautiful. They turn on the fountains. It really is something to see.

Anyway overall I think it’s a really beautiful place to stay. I wouldn’t advise staying there for more than one day. We arrived at 10:30 am left at 11:00 am the following day. We saw and did everything.

+1
A hotel might lack luxary amenities, but when a hotel lacks some basic facilities, it needs improvement. Here what happened in my case
# No AC remote at 1st day
# 2nd day AC remote was given but AC was not working
# Water heater was not working (Pic given)
# The thing surprised me most I asked the housekeeping for airfreshener but they said not available!!!!
# Towel was not clean
# Table mat at dining area was not clean
# I got a ground floor room and toilet window was huge and transparent (Pic given)

But i also noticed some positive things
# Amenities were good
# Breakfast provided
# Swimming pool
# Great view
# Large kids' playground
# Staff behavior very nice

Final Verdict:
Although they need massive improvement, it is the best available option for staying at Gaibandha.
