The location of this hotel is very good. The "strip" is 10 minute walk and thankfully you do not hear any noise coming from that direction. We would have liked somewhere nice to walk but it is just streets with few shops around the hotel and it is too far to walk to the beach. They run a shuttle bus to the old town which is a great service, we used it nearly every day. There are nice shops in the old town and lots of places to eat. We were told it gets very busy in the evenings. As with all other beaches in Portugal it is very clean and long, but some areas had strong waves and didnt look very safe to swim there. We stayed in a suite which consisted of a bedroom, good size bathroom, livingroom type area with 2 couches, table and chairs, storage and TV and kitchen. Plenty of room and the bed was really comfortable with great pillows and crisp white bed linen, beds were made up late afternoon so always nice to come back to. Hotel staff are so friendly, always helpful, the entertainment team are fantastic, they did their very best to enrol people to do different activities and were so good with children. Plenty of beds around the pool, we usually went out about 10 and lots of beds available. We chose a nice grassy area where there was plenty of shade if you needed it. Towels are available for 20 euros per person which is refundable at any time and can be changed daily at the spa. The spa itself looked good, we did not use it, but people we spoke to enjoyed it. Our only complaint was the food. It is a buffet service and choice not so good, although they put on a spectacular display of salads with cold meats, rice, pasta, fish in the evenings, couldnt fault that. Desserts look so good but tasted pretty bland. The hotel seemed to be invaded by a lot of "noisy" french holidaymakers 3 days into our holiday and they were a bit annoying, but all in all we had a relaxing holiday. Evening entertainment was ok, sing-a-longs mainly, but the entertainment staff put on a Mama Mia show on and it was brilliant. Unfortunately, we do not think we will be back to Albufeira, but we would recommend this hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay, very clean hotel, our room was cleaned each day & towels changed each day.
Staff where all very friendly.
Food was lovely, something for everyone. We loved the freshly made pizza's and Portuguese tarts especially.
Loads of drinks too on offer.
Great long weekend away. We will return.
5 stars x
Nice clean hotel but definitely not 4 star.
Good choice very limited but presentation was good.
No tablecloths for evening meal no waiter service
Staff reasonably friendly but when you arrive at lunchtime to be then told you cannot have a room until 4 pm after travelling from 5a.m. This does not feel welcoming.
Rooms do not get cleaned until late afternoon when you want to go for a rest so you choose rest of clean room.
Overall a nice quiet hotel but please do not book of you wish to be in a 4 star this definitely is not.
I have to say, that this was one of the best hotel experiences, me and my family have had in many years!
The staff is great, very helpfull and friendly. The food is delighfull, with a lot of variety. The rooms are big enough and with really nice views to the pool. A very clean hotel. The pool is heated and with enough space to everyone.
And the entertainment team provided by Bellux, is from another world. I don't have enough words to describe them. Full of energy, smiles and really nice talk. The kids loved the kids club, and for me and my husband we've been part of all the funny activities, especially the cocktail game, by the end of the morning. Thanks Rui, Yolanda, Tania and the rest of the team for making this experience even better.
The evening entertainment is out of this world. After a long day of activities, this guys still have energy for star quality show like Mamma Mia and Disney.
I will definitly come back and that's why I haven't gave 5 stars. There's a few things that I think it will improve the experience:
- Most important: the fitness zone needs shadow. It's impossible do Yoga, GAP... in 30º;
- A proper show room;
- Update the reception.
Thanks to everyone!!!
No idea where the 4*s came from.
Let's start with the positives (it won't take long)
1. The bar/restaurant staff were friendly.
2. The hotel was generally clean.
3. In a fairly decent area if you're going for the nightlife.
1. The biggest- when we returned to our room after breakfast our door was left wide open (assuming by housekeeping as their trolleys were outside) but there was no one around. My passport, purse and phone were on the side for anyone to take.
2. Our door handle had black tape around, assuming it was broken? There was also a patch of plaster coming off the wall.
3. The reception and spa reception staff were unfriendly and clearly couldnt be bothered to help.
4. The breakfast was ok; as you'd expect for all inclusive, but the lunch and dinner looked suspiciously regurgitated and very little had labels so good luck if you have an allergy.
5. The hotel itself is generally very dated, the odd faux leather sofa placed around to try and make it look modern but what they need is a full refurb really.
We actually decided to check out 2 days earlier as we were so unimpressed. If you are expecting genuine 4* you will be disappointed.
No doubt this review will receive a brusque reply as others have - which personally I think says it all about the professionalism and friendliness of management.
