We only stayed for 2 nights in this nice hotel in the cozy small town of Bad Radkersburg. Perfect location in all respects:
- few minutes to the Hauptplatz with cafes and restaurants
- few minutes across the bridge to Slovenia
- few minutes to the thermal bath and large fitness center
The hotel has 2 small pools, one with high temperature water, a lawn with sun beds - not crowded - where you can enjoy the view to the castle on the Slovenian side.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and our stay very pleasant. We were allowed to use the pool area the whole day on our departure day, also after having checked out. Lot of parking lots, and also a e Tankstelle nearby with free charging for our electric car. Highly recommended to stay here.

Bad Radkersburg is a really pretty little town - walled in, with a (dry) moat, half a dozen streets, and oodles of old buildings, a few old churches and attractive towers. Walking through it and admiring the doors to the houses is just one of its pleasant attractions. The hotel, Kaiser von O, as it is known, has been around for many, many years, and is located at the southern end of the Lang Gasse ("Long road"). It was modernized not too long ago. The hotel is partially old building, partially new - with the new section abutting the old city wall, which was left visible in our room. The "Bad" (as in "bath") in the city's name refers to the warm spring that was found less than a century ago, and which has made the place a destination as a spa - resulting in a host of bland looking spa hotels outside town. This hotel, with the source of the water across the road, taps into that water and offers its own naturally heated pool - covered when it is cold, open when sunny. Having its own pool and associated spa ameneties means you don't have to worry about crowds in the public baths. From the pool itself you can view the castle across the river, and admire some of the old houses which adjoin the hotel - even just looking into the sky is pleasant, while you let aching muscles recover from walking in the area.
The hotel itself is a combination of retained old architecture (the classic double-domed ceilings in the one restaurant area, for example, or the old heating stove in the same room), with modern fittings elsewhere - blended harmoniously. The rooms are fully modern, with nice beds, plenty of space, good bathroom - all you could wish for. Our room, being on the ground floor, had access to the outside world, with a table and chairs for relaxing - others have balconies.
Breakfast is a vast buffet, with a great variety of choices, many locally sourced (i.e. supporting the local businesses). The menu for lunch and dinner are somewhat limited - possibly the only down-side of this hotel - it forces you to eat elsewhere, and for that Radkersburg has only limited offerings (I think most of the other spa hotels retain their guests for dinner - which is a pity as an old city like this should be full of cosy little eateries and cafe's - which exist, but far too few.)
Service in the hotel is very good - attentive and efficient.

As our main reason for the visit was not the spa, but rather the town itself, and surroundings, we found the location of the hotel really good, and with comfortable rooms there was really not much to complain about.

One thing to note is that parking in front of the main entrance can be a bit tight, especially if fellow parkers are not considerate (we had some severe problems with bicycle racks on tow bars intruding into turning space, and people parking badly in the already narrow bays...) - to save yourself that hassle, there are a few bays just around the corner (facing the hedge to the pool) - these were generally not used much, and allow for far easier parking and leaving!

Apart from that little problem and the limited lunch/dinner menu, this is really a great hotel - good location, nice feel, good service - set in a really nice little town with beautiful surroundings.

Recently my husband and I were staying at the Kaiser von Osterreich thermal hotel. We had a very pleasant experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The service is outstanding. The hotel and the restaurant are very clean and absolutely stop less.
Pool is cleaned every morning and so does the exercise room.
The surrounding area is gorgeous.
The only concern my husband had - there were no English speaking channels on TV.
Thumbs up, suggested to everyone.
