  • Be prepared for the heat, especially during the nearly tropical summers, by wearing light clothes and drinking plenty of water.
  • Remember that Savannah is only 17 miles east of the Atlantic Ocean, in case you want to try a beach break at Tybee Island.

    There is no better way to acquaint yourself with a city than to pop into the Visitors Center. However, as with most things, Savannah outdoes itself with this brilliant location, within the old passenger terminal of the Central of Georgia Railway. Offering an audio-visual display of Savannah, this is a wonderful place to really get your bearings before you begin your adventure in earnest!
