A hearty breakfast from the famous Paul Bunyan's Northwoods Cook Shanty is a classic way to start your day in Wisconsin Dells. Having served up hearty family-style meals since the 1950s, This Dells mainstay has the "Lumberjack breakfast" experience wired. With wooden rafters and long tables and benches, the cabin-style interior has a friendly, rustic vibe, and the all-you-can-eat breakfast includes all the staples: fluffy pancakes, sausage links and ham, scrambled eggs, camp-fried potatoes, biscuits and gravy, and fresh, melt-in-your-mouth buttermilk donuts.
One of the great things about Wisconsin Dells is that there are rides everywhere, for kids and adults. After your tummies are full from a solid breakfast, head over to Timber Falls Adventure Golf for fun rides, and, yes mini golf.
After an afternoon in the sun, nothing hits the spot better than some Original Wisconsin Dells Fudge. This creamy, old-fashioned treat is made daily in small batches, using real Wisconsin whipping cream and other high-quality ingredients.
If you're in the mood for even more adventure, check out the Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park. With indoor and outdoor fun, Mt. Olympus is the king of water park amusement for the whole family.
The High Rock Cafe is a local favorite, where you'll find an array of amazing dinner items, but leave room for dessert too.
There's no better way to begin your second day in the Dells than with a little whimsy at the Ripley's Believe It or Not museum. There are three entire floors of interesting collections and oddities to lose yourself in, so be sure to bring a camera.
A faux-vintage photo from Old Abe's Old Time Portraits makes for a fun souvenir. With a wide range of scenes (quite a few more than the average old time studio), you can let your imaginations run wild and then capture it on film.
By now you might be getting hungry, but you might also want to go somewhere for more rides and games. Well, how about a place where you can do both? At Knuckleheads Bowling & Family Entertainment Center, you can grab lunch at Knuckleheads Bar & Grill and then go to town on the trampoline, in the foam pit, or even on the dodgeball court.
Even more adventure awaits you at Big Chief Go Kart. Come on in and get ready to zoom over the hills and by the river — at a very reasonable price.
After a day so full of good-time shenanigans, treat yourself to a classic dinner at the country-themed eatery, Dells Distillery. In addition to foods that both kids and adults will enjoy, there is a special adult menu full of distilled vodka, whiskey, brandy, rum, and beers.
A favorite for breakfast in the Dells, Mr. Pancake offers a tasty array of breakfast treats in a charming environment. The steamboat-esque sets the tone, and the vast menu features everything from crepes and waffles to blintzes, omelettes, and so much more.
The family-owned Country Bumpkin Farm Market is a great place to pick up treats for later in the day. Here you can shop for anything from homemade pies to fruits, veggies, and fresh flowers. There's also a Lil' Bumpkin Play Village & Petting Farm for some wholesome farm fun.
A treasure trove of educational fun, Tommy Bartlett Exploratory offers more than 175 interactive science displays. You can lift a 5,000-pound car with the Giant Lever, ride the High Wire SkyCycle, or experience the hair-raising (literally) Bridge of Fire exhibit.
Most everyone who likes BBQ has heard of Famous Dave's, and if you haven't had a chance to check it out for yourself yet, then a stop at the restaurant's Dells location is a must! You can sample a variety of meats, all draped in Famous Dave's award-winning sauce — but be sure to leave room for dessert too!
