I took my first plane ride at a mere two weeks of age and have been passionate about travel ever since. A published poet and working journalist, when not traveling I'm obsessing about where to go next, or writing about where I've been.
A morning staple when visiting Wisconsin Dells: breakfast at Paul Bunyan's Northwoods Cook Shanty. You can't miss the giant statue of Mr. Bunyan himself, so let that be the beacon leading you to some good eats before you begin a full day of fun in the Dells.
In the mood for pizza and beer? The Moosejaw Pizza & Dells Brewing Co. is a great place to get your fill of both those things. The only microbrewery in Wisconsin Dells, Moosejaw makes 10 handcrafted beers and offers sampler flights, and the pizza is pretty amazing as well. At peak times there may be a wait, but it's well worth it.
Whether you're traveling with children, or you're a railroad enthusiast, a meal at the Buffalo Phil's Pizza & Grille is fun for 'kids' of all ages. Visitors will first be entranced by the train delivering the food, and then the food itself. The menu features all-time food favorites like nachos, steaks, pizza, burgers, and more.
For a more elegant dining experience with an amazing view, there's the Ishnala Supper Club. Located in the middle of the gorgeous Mirror Lake State Park, and with giant Norway pines growing right through the roof of the restaurant, it's a place where one can't help feeling closer to nature
