Points of Interest

1. Parking

Park here next to Salmon Falls Road. Walk across the road and start your climb. You will soon pass over Salmon Creek and head up quickly via switchbacks to Pioneer Point.

2. Pioneer Point

You will have a great view down towards the Columbia from this viewpoint before you re-enter the woods for the descent down towards Highway 14 and closer to the river.

3. Short walk on Roads

Here you will take a short walk down Rim Road before re-entering the trail at the end of the road.

4. Cross Highway 14.

Cross Highway 14 and continue on the trail down towards the Columbia River.

5. Waterfall

Here you will pass by a nice waterfall cascading down to the river below.

6. Views of the Columbia

Along this stretch you will pass by fields of basalt and gaze of spires of volcanic rock at the Columbia River below.

7. Cape Horn Road

Here you will meet up with the Cape Horn Road and follow it back up to the parking lot and your vehicle.
