Diana R's City Tips

  • All locations are easily accessible via public transport. The "L" (or elevated train) has stops within walking distance of each place in this guide.
  • Deep dish pizza isn't meant to be picked up. In fact, sometimes there's so much cheese it just isn't possible! Don't be shy about using a knife and fork — there's no other way.
  • Deep dish pizza can be deceiving — one slice and you might find yourself full! Remember to take your time between slices to avoid being uncomfortably full.

    Diana R Says:

Gino's East is proper Chicago style pizza — you have to eat it with a knife and fork and it is absolutely delicious! If you're downtown it's easy to get to, but if you're not, they have a few other locations around the city too.

    Tips
    • Even with a lot of great food choices, the pizza is always what I pick. If you're skeptical, I highly recommend giving it a try here over any other pizza joint downtown.
    • Take the Red line and exit at Belmont. From there you're a short 7-minute walk away.

    Diana R Says:

Pequods has a great atmosphere and is perfect for groups or families. They're open late on weekends so you can eat whenever you want! Famous for their caramelized crust, this is some of Chicago's finest deep dish pizza.

    Tips
    • Pequods can get quite busy, so if you have a large group, remember to put your name down early. Don't worry, you can grab a beer while you wait — I recommend the local "312."
    • Fullerton is the closest "L" stop, which can be accessed by the Red, Brown, or Purple line. However it's a bit of a walk from there so you can connect to a bus down Fullerton.

Hands down some of the best Mexican food you can get in Chicago. And the margaritas ... they pack a hidden punch! Make sure you're not the designated driver if you decide to give this fabulous spot a try.

This chain is available throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, so look for the location nearest to you and give it a try. Or if you feel like staying in one night, they deliver!
