1. Maxwell Road Food Court

Why not begin the tour with a lunch at a hawker centre? This hawker centre hosts Tian Tian stall (stall #10), famous for its chicken rice. Expect long queues at lunch time.

This place houses the tooth of the Buddha. As this is a religious place, please wear appropriate attire to show respect: no bare backs, off-shoulders, shorts, mini-skirts, etc.

An interesting, small museum about the history of the Chinese community by the Foundation of Singapore.

Opening hours: 9am to 8pm daily (last entry at 7pm)

4. Pagoda Street

Visit the shophouses along Pagoda Street for souvenirs.

Singapore's oldest Hindu temple, built in 1827.

Opening hours: 7am-12noon, 6pm-9pm

6. Masjid Jamae

One of the earliest mosques in Singapore.

Smith street hosts restaurants along the street, and in the evening, visitors can experience street food. Food stalls are open along the street and tables are set on the road closed to traffic. Blend with the locals and try tasty local foods.
