  • If you would like to cycle in Brisbane, there are 150 CityCycle bike stations with up to 2000 bikes available, and the Council provides courtesy helmets at many of the stations.
  • The easiest way to deal with getting around in Brisbane is by using the Brisbane Journey Planner which you can find online.
  • When you shop at a department store or grocery store, have a look at the back of the receipt to find "Shop-A-Docket," which include coupons for pizza, bowling, museums and more.

Queensland Museum is great to see specific exhibitions. I would recommend looking at the website and checking the calendar. The Anzac Centenary Gallery, which opened in March 2014 to commemorate 100 years since the 1st World War, is an excellent one.

Do you love boats? The Queensland Maritime Museum is my favorite place to explore the history of many vessels including the WW2 ship, the Diamantina. Have a wander around some of the restored rooms inside the boat and feel like a sailor for a day!

If you are interested in Australian aboriginal culture, the Queensland Art Gallery has one of the best exhibitions in the country. You will get some interesting insights about the history, stories and art of Australia's first peoples and cultures here. It is fascinating! The museum also hosts traveling exhibitions throughout the year.

The Gallery of Modern Art always has been a 'step ahead' in bringing modern art to Australia, with one of the largest collections in the Asia-Pacific region. The David Lynch: Between Two Worlds exhibition is particularly great, featuring a mix of art, music and film.

Entering this museum feels like you went back in time to WW2 in the year 1942. Imagine a placid, country town with less than 350,000 people, suddenly transformed into the Headquarters for American Military Operations, with over 100,000 troops either stationed there or passing through. Come and 'feel' the history.

Imagine a police headquarters housed in a tent. This is how it was back in 1864. The Queensland Police Museum is a fascinating insight into the lives, secrets, and history of the Queensland Police Department. I love discovering all the secret clues, arms, and even gas masks used by some of the most notorious criminals over the years.
