One of a kind comic strip museum you won't see anywhere else. The building is beautifully designed by Victor Horta. Lots of comics for hours of enjoyment, my favorite Tin Tin is here, along with the Smurfs,
Pack a lunch and plan to stay in this public park for a few hours. It is close to the Schuman and Merode Metro stations and tram services. The Royal Military Museum, Auto World Museum, Cinquantenaire Museum are the biggest museums on site and definitely worth a visit.
This is a the must fun museum I have been to. It is packed with virtually every instrument in the world and you can listen to each instrument if you have time. There are also temporary exhibits. Museum is beautifully designed, very unusual. There is a restaurant on site where you can drop by for lunch or cafe and enjoy a great view of Brussels.
We used this company to visit other cities on day trips within Belgium. They picked us up from our hotel within the city and returned us to our hotel at the end of the night. For shorter trips, you are dropped off at Brussels City Tours Office and you have to find your way back to your hotel. This was fine by us because we wanted to spend some time in this area. It is jam packed with tourists. This is a nice area to wander around. The tour staff were knowledgeable and very nice.
This is the most popular square in Brussels. Lots of cafes, stores and tourists in this area. The Town Hall and the Breadhouse building containing the Museum of Brussels are located in this square. This is also a UNESCO World Heritage site, dating back to the 17th century. In mid August every year, a "flower carpet" is set up in the Grand Place for a few days. It is beautiful and very colorful. You can view the flower carpet from outside. However there is a long line up to enter the building to see the flowers inside.
This small museum is dedicated to the life and work of Victor Horta. This is a private house, however its very small so a lot of visitors cannot fit all at the same time. The details of these two house are elegant and beautiful. You will adore this Museum if you are a Horta fan. This is a World Heritage Site,
This large museum is located inside Cinquantenaire Park. War and History buffs will love this museum. Admission is free, however donations are welcome. Staff on site are very forthcoming with information.
This area is a nice place for walks, window shopping, eating etc. There are antique stores, lots of cafes, boutiques, restaurants etc. This area is very busy during the weekend when the books market is open.
The Atomium was built for Expo, 1958 World's Fair. All the spheres are connected to form the shape of a unit cell which is magnified millions of times. Escalators and elevators are located inside so that everyone can enjoy the museum inside. Great view of Brussels at the top. There are other sites in this area to visit. I enjoyed the Planetarium and viewed the Titanic exhibit in the Expo building.
This is my absolute favorite cafe for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was pleasantly surprise to find Crepe Suzette on the menu. We enjoyed several savory crepes on different days. The cost is reasonable and the food is delicious.
This area to see this little boy is very, very busy. We went early to avoid the crowd and took great photos. He is adorable and I always wanted to visit. Definitely a must on every tourist list. Lots of shopping and cafes in this area to enjoy. I went to his both times I was in Brussels.
This hotel is within walking distance from 2 Metros. It is very clean and modern. It is very close to North African restaurants where we enjoyed fresh and delicious seafood at great prices 3 times during our stay. Hotel staff were very helpful and printed maps for us when we needed help to get to some areas outside of the city. Fairly quite area, but still close enough to the busy areas in Brussels which is perfect. I will definitely stay here again
