mcguireinrome's City Tips

  • Let your hotel know if this is your honeymoon or a special romantic trip and they might help make your stay extra special.
  • Beaches on the Amalfi Coast are small and pebbly. They can get very crowded in July and August.
  • There are no direct transport links between Amalfi and the nearest airport in Naples. A private car service is the fastest way to get to Amalfi, while the SITA bus via Salerno is the most economical.

If you are visiting Amalfi in the summer (or for a weekend out of the season) you are almost sure to come upon a wedding at Amalfi's cathedral. Join in the romantic celebrations and cheer on the newlyweds from the steps or the piazza.

This ancient cloister is attached to Amalfi Cathedral. It is well worth the small entrance fee to take a romantic stroll through the archways, look at the frescoes, and enjoy the small manicured garden.

These slightly ramshackle ruins are a place to escape the crowds at the beach. At the end of the hike, you will be rewarded with views up towards Ravello, down to Atrani and Amalfi, and all the way to the sea.
