Planning on doing a 1hr flight (fixed wing)(next week) in late April over kakadu. Is there a better time of day to do this? Was thinking midday due to possibly clearer weather but unsure of glare re photos. Anyone have any suggestions ?
Hello - The flights in the mornings are cooler, but light is best mid day. Here is a few hints on taking photos. Our aircraft have plastic windows, the best photo will be on the downside when the aircraft is turning and the window is in shadow. Being seated in the main cabin under the wing is also a good spot. Also hold the camera near but not on the window, cupping it with you hand also works. Your seat, the co-pilots seat is forward of the wing, great photo spot but better with the above advise, Hope this helps. Cheers Ngaire Company owner
Do about glare etc but we flew in morning. This was suggested for less turbulence. There was little turbulence so we were able to enjoy the flight better. Due to the plane moving around and being a return flight glare should not be a great problem, it was not on our flight. Photos through the windows was a bit difficult but still possible.
for great photos take the helicopter flight...bit more expensive but well worth it for taking photos...they hover for you to get the best shots...you will see far better at each feature...we were absolutely wrapped with their service
