OK? so busy road not recommended for walkngand mad Italian drivers. What is recommendation for getting around
There is always the local train service which we used to go into Palermo a few times, excellent. It was about a 15 minute walk up the road but mostly paved or where not, the road was very wide.
Walking from the hotel toward the local town (east) was pretty scary but we do recommend you go there, just get a cab!
well ,there ok to walk to paces as the veiws are wort it, but you just have to be aware of the traffic. There are paths but limited.
Driving is fine as is walking...just have to be a bit more alert than in the uk!
I think it is best to rent a car, otherwise you will need to take taxis wherever you go. Walking can be quite dangerous without a proper walkway. We took taxis locally to Porticello and to/from local restaurants and clubs. We also connected with other guests and took trips to Palermo, and Cefalu. It could get a bit pricey but we spit the cost and it was quite reasonable.
Hire a car.We walked for miles ,it was very hot and you dice with death!!Although we walked to the train station, which is a very good service, but couldn't do it with a large suit case.Had to get a taxi.A 4/5 minute journey, cost 15 euro.
