Gambino Winery Questions & Answers

We will be staying at both Catania and Taormina in May and would like to visit Gambino Winery for a day trip. We will not have our own hire car. What are the options for transportation please?

Go on line and look for Sicily Limousine. They offer a half day tour to Gambino Winery or they combine it with seeing Mt. Etna for a full day tour. Gambino is on Mt Etna so it's convenient. We went with the half day tour (just the winery) and it was great. Sicily Limousine is way up there on the charts since the drivers go there all time and they are extremely professional. The food they serve with the wine is great and the wines are delicious (and I'm not a wine drinker)

Hope that helps

I would contact Natour sicily at their website. Look up on internet. which was the contractor we used....personable, local, well versed in botany, viticulture and geology!

We used a group called Excursions Sicily and Enrico was the owner and our guide. He was a knowledgable, professional host and showed us around much of the Taormina area and set up the Gambino Winery tasting. It was all outrageous and very affordable from what I recall. Highly recommend them.

In Taormina they have a tour office where you can plan/get transportation to the winery. It's easy and officiant.

We had a hire car so not sure what the options are. I would suggest emailing Gambino directly and see if they can offer some suggestions.

There is a bus tour company that does a day tour but only on one day of the week - Fridays from memory and it is best to book ahead in busy times (they were full in early September). We arranged for a taxi when we saw one at the bus station - 60 € each way, and the taxi driver was happy to wait as long as needed for the tasting.

We took a tour with a group on a bus. I'm sure you could get there by a car hire, but since we didn't do it that way, I'm not sure where to direct you. Possibly, contact the winery and see who they recommend:)
