how far is the beach away from the hotel? is it conveniently located? from the photos, i can see its very desert-like and has many houses in the area. so for 2 girls visiting, is it suitable to walk in swimwear?
There are 2 main beach areas, one is Psarou beach with the famous Nammos beach club and another Platis Gialos beach. The first is closest and basically across the street but it is a bit of a steep climb down a rocky path to the beaches. Not un-doable at all though if you walk slowly, but I recommend wearing closed toed shoes and packing sandals in your beach bag :) We walked it a few times during our trip! Beach attire however I imagine wouldn't change the walk down and fine! As for the other beach it is a 12-15 min walk straight down the main road (that the hotel is located on) but it's down the main road until it dead ends at Petinos beach. We were pre-"peak" season so the road was a mix of busy and calm. But if you're going mid-June to Aug I would ask the hotel possibly for a short taxi transfer down. Both beaches were nice although Psarou was smaller. Both beaches have a stretch of cafes and restaurants as well as ability to rent beach chairs & umbrella.
The beach is across the street from this hotel but it's down a large hill, you have to walk down rocks. I wouldn't suggest walking around the street in swimwear.
Actually, the Psarou beach is about two minutes away! Its a four minute climb down at the Mykonos Blu sign. It's always rated as the top beach in Mykonos! I would advise a wrap over a bathing suit but I also saw people just in bathing suits.
There are 2 beaches within 10-15 minutes walk away from the Palladium Hotel. These are the main local attractions and - as such - attract many visitors wearing beach/casual clothing. That said, I would advise the use of wraps and you will also need to take towels to the beach where sun beds - together with umbrella - are available for hire at Euros 10 approx per day but ask first!
