I was there in Feb of this year, and nary a mosquito the whole time. I was fully prepared to be swarmed but never saw/heard any and never put on bug stuff, not at the inn, not in the rain forest, not at the beaches. Very pleasantly surprised. As to cars, not a problem. The only place I would have needed a jeep as opposed to a regular rental was on vieques.

Hi Bill. I, too, was worried about mosquitoes, as I was traveling with my 22 year old daughter and we had zika concerns. I brought 100% DEET, and we used it, but actually never saw a single mosquito while we were there. It may have been the season (March). The roads were fine for our ordinary rental car -a few potholes here and there. The driveway to the Inn was steep, but we never had a problem.

We were there in late Feb. and didn't notice any mosquitos. Bring some deet just in case. You are virtually in the rain forest after all. My hyundai rental handled all the roads just fine. They are kind of narriw and windy. As previously mentioned, the road leading to th Inn is about 100 yards and steep. You'll handle it just fine. The upstairs terrace is a delight at night. You can hardly talk, the sounds from the "jungle" are so loud. Enjoy!!

We didn't see any mosquitoes in January and the roads in and around the Inn are fine....maybe a bit narrow but fine. Say hi to Henry for us.

We stayed for only one night last October. Beautiful spot! No mosquitoes, though we took care not to leave our door open during the day. We spent the whole evening on the outdoor terrace admiring the unbeatable view of mountains and ocean and had no bug problems at all. The roads around and leading to the inn are just fine, we had a regular sedan rental car. I can highly recommend staying there. Very quiet, well kept, and lovely people running the place. Great place to stay for exploring the rainforest and surrounding area, pretty close to everything you might want to do. They provide free coffee and tea throughout the day and have a cute little indoor restaurant, though we drove and ate at one of the amazing seafood places on the coast... The pool was not inviting and we didn't use it, though they may have upgraded/cleaned it since we were there. My husband and I are returning to PR this fall and will definitely consider staying there again if we are in that area.

Happy travels!
