Agreed -- this is a perfect idea for someone who uses a scooter to get around. Everyone in your group can enjoy visiting the Mammoth Site.

Well, my husband has a hard time getting around. They had a wheelchair we used for free. It does have it's ups and downs. it's do-able, with caution.

They have made an great effort to make this site accessible. There are a few places where his view might be limited but he will have access to almost everything.

So sorry for the slow response. My husband ride his scooter for the whole visit. There is an educational area outside of the main building that we didn't try to access. Hope you took or will take your father.

It is very accessible. They use carts to move the exhibits and the terrain is quite smooth and accessible.

I would call the site. There are walkways around the dig site but I remember stairs.

You should have no problem.

The entire site is indoors in a very nice building. There are walkways around and over the dig site which a scooter should be able to navigate with relative ease. I don't recall any steps that are required as a part of the tour, though there are some that you can take after the tour is over when you are able to walk around some on your own. There is also a lower level, but I believe that is accessed via elevator (I'm not sure - we didn't do that part of the building, as our kids were getting restless, but it was after the tour, regardless).

Also, the entire museum and theater (which is where the tour starts) are also scooter friendly.
