Hello. My wife & I are cyclists and are used to riding around 50 miles. I'm sure the tour is fun, and we would like to consider doing that, too, but basically we are looking for some bikes to rent to head out on our own for the day (or perhaps after the tour). Can you accommodate? It was going to be an arm & half a leg to fly our bikes down there from Kansas. Thanks! --Bruce.
We rent bikes out with the tours that are super safe and led by a guide. Our bicycles are high end touring bikes. We are not a bike rental shop.
Check out some of the bike shops either in Jacksonville or maybe St. Augustine. Of course, you really don't want to bike in Florida in July and August unless you really like heat and humidity. There are longer bike tours in Florida for the distance riders. Bike Florida has cross Florida bike tour and Florida Freewheelers has "Safari" a 3-day or 6-day event that offers everything (but the bike). Beware, the Safari is usually sold out for the 6-day event long beforehand. Both events are in early to mid-April and are usually back to back. Both offer short, mid and longer distance. With Safari you have a Century a day option. Check the internet for more information. At this writing 4-08-18, you are probably too late for either event this year. P.S. We are also cyclists and enjoyed your Katy Trail that ends near KC. We did it about 3 weeks after the disastrous flood but it was an adventure and loved the KC trails, too.
