Yes I believe you would be quite comfortable here at the Gansevoort. Staff extremely helpful and accommodating

Stones exhibit walking distance. Younger crowd hangs out on roof bar, but we just made plans at our favorite spots all close by.

Enjoy

Yes, both my husband and I are over quite a bit over 50 but admittedly hip. I'm jealous of you going to the stones exhibit, I wanted to go and heard it was great. We just ran out of time. Super close to the hotel.

We felt a little out of place as not only is the rooftop full of young people but so is the lobby bar. This was Friday night. On Saturday night it was a little better. Staff and rooms are great and there's a lot of restaurants and bars you can walk to. I would stay there again. It helped they we were with another couple. I also saw the Stones exhibit and highly recommend it. It's about a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

I think you will be fine . I know on the weekends the lounge by rooftop pool becomes a night club so rooms near that may be noisy . The hotel itself is very nice and so is the staff . The rooms are very spacious compared to other NYC hotels and the location is great - if you have time ,take a walk to Chelsea market too.

Hope this helps / enjoy !
