Someone has told me that there are only 2 tables for walk-ins here. Is that correct? I was told basically to not bother with the drive if I don't have a reservation. 2 walk in tables just seems absurd to me. Can that be right?!?
Hi Everyone, I didn't realize their was a Q&A now on Trip Advisor. Here's the deal with reservation vs first come, first serve. I technically have 18 tables in the dining room. 8 are for reservations only and the remainder are first come first serve. We hit snags when large parties come in without a reservation and we need to put 2 - 3 tables together for them which takes them out of rotation for awhile and 2 tables are less desirable because they are in front of the band. In anticipation of another busy summer, I've got the patio ready to kick off next weekend (May 9th) for the wait, I've hired a musician to play outside every Saturday starting next weekend and will offer appetizers & pizza as well as drinks outside while people wait for a table. I hope this helps.
I agree with everyone from above. We didn't have a reservation and went on a Wednesday night and was surprised how full it was but it was a "good" full. Fun atmosphere! If you do have to wait their is a neat bar that you can pull up a seat and enjoy a glass of wine as you wait :)
Palisades is definently worth the drive. Walk in's are more than welcome. They don't have walk in only tables. We went on a Sunday morning for breakfast and had to wait for a table bit it was worth the wait.
Pallisades can be quite busy at peak times, we have rarely made a reservation but always call ahead to check in before we leave Blacksburg. We avoid the peak hours 5-8, and max wait for a table has been maybe 10 minutes. Usually we pass the time at the bar. I do not believe the info which someone shared with you, call Pallisades up and the owner and hostess will give you the facts.
