Is there much shade along this walk and how long of a walk is it?
It really depends on the area of the park you are walking. Some areas have quite a bit of shade, but others are more open. There are plenty of great areas to choose from whether you want shade or not.
There are many shady parts and the length depends on how far you are willing to go.
There are shady spots and the guide wills top in those areas. However you do walk in the sun at times. All told maybe 4 miles for the entire walk but you can stop any time
There are parts of the gardens in shade, the zoo portion especially, but other parts not so much. A hat and or umbrella is advised.
My visit was in winter - there is a lot of shaded areas but there are many sunny walkways. I would suggest to wear a wide-brimmed hat.
lots of shade. you can walk as much as you want. I really enjoyed the boat ride. Some walk on trails with one of the yellow wheel carts. Or you can bring a scooter or wheelchair to walk on the paved areas
Yes, there’s a lot of shade under numerous live oak trees.
You could walk from open to close. There is an abundance of shade. I suggest you visit their website.
There are many tree lined walkways and miles of trails. You can alter your route to make your walk as long or short as you like.
I would say it's half shade, half full sun. The zoo area is mostly shade, but the sculpture garden area is more full sun. I asked someone at the Visitor's Center how many miles the area covered and she didn't know. Maybe 5 miles...? In the summer, I would pack bug spray.
