Lorella Springs Wilderness Park Questions & Answers

London, United Kingdom

We are thinking of driving from Darwin to Borroloola next August in a hired camper van. What is the road like to Lorella Springs wilderness park and how far is it from Borroloola? Would we be allowed to drive there in a hired camper van? Thanks

You would need a 4 wheel drive high clearance 4wd. The road from Darwin across to Boorooloola gets graded at the start of the Tourist season. By August the weather is lovely but the road is corrugated. The creek crossings are tidal.

The tracks at Lorella Springs are sandy and there are creek crossings. Quite an adventure.

The road to Lorella is definitely four wheel drive, I went on an organised tour and the vehicle was four wheel drive. August should be great weather. Not sure how far from Borroloola.
