My husband and I will be there in the beginning of Sept. I could really use some direction about what to pack. I'd like to know if I need to bring shorts for daytime because it will be getting warm. Do I need warm clothes for early morning and after the sunsets and what about appropriate colors?
Thanks for you help!
Singita does provide blankets in the jeep if you are cold during the morning and afternoon rides. They also provide fleece ponchos and rain ponchos in army green, so no need to pack those. There are hiking pants that roll up or ones that have zip-off bottoms (converting to shorts). You also may want clothing with permethrin embedded in it if you are worried about mosquitos. the staff there wears very neutral colors---sand, green, beige, gray---while out on safari.
I packed lightweight pants from Rei that were really great for the cold mornings but the warm days. I had cotton t shirts, sweater and windbreaker for layering and I was perfect. Personally I didn't want my legs exposed so the pants were great. All the rei Sahara products are great for safari. I wore neutral colors like beige, black, blue and army green.
