We are planning to book for 5th -7th Jan and wanted to do 1 overnight stay in your houseboat and 1 night at the resort. Please advise how do we book as only room bookings we displayed and no option of houseboat comes up on the travel sites. Also is it worth staying overnight on the houseboat with 2 kids aged 7yrs and 11yrs.
How is Kumarakom diffrerent from Alleppey in terms of holiday expereince? Which is a better place to stay- Kumarakom or Alleppey?
You can book with the hotel directly by sending us a query or mail us at vsp @ sarovarhotels. com. We have only 01 Houseboat and hence we do the bookings for it directly at the resort.
Staying on a Houseboat is a very different experience and is worth it. If you feel it would be difficult to manage the kids, we can come back to the resort and park the boat in the resort boat jetty. Then the kids can dis-embark and use the facilities in the resort like the pool and keep themselves occupied.
Kumarakom and Alleppey are both backwater destinations. Kumarakom became famous due to the bird sanctuary located there and the lake is at its widest at that point. Experience wise there is hardly any difference since we too provide Houseboat, Speed boat, Ferry boat, sunset cruise in addition to all the other facilities and activities.
Personally I don't feel it worthwhile to stay overnite in a houseboat. Better u can do the day trip 10am-5pm on the houseboat.
Kumarakom has lots of good stays, but the backwaters are good in alleppey
