Thank you for your questions. There are two eateries and a Marketplace available on premise, and a few more restaurants and some shops within walking distance.

There are definitely bars and restaurants within walking distance. Make sure you go to Sailfish Marina. I would still rent a car. There are many places within a half hour drive worth going to. As well as grocery store, not within walking distance carrying groceries.

You can get some staples at the Marketplace and there is a restaurant on site as well as a few casual ones that are a bit of a walk but do-able. For major shopping and for the better restaurants, a car is definitely necessary. Also check with AAA to get a toll road pass if you are driving any distance.

There are several restaurants within an easy walking distance but we always get a car to pickup groceries.

We had a vehicle but walked to several restaurants and small shops in the village of Singer Island. Most were with 1/2 to 1 mile away.

My opinion. There are a few restaurants around within walking distance. Overall, not the best selection imaginable - shopping even less so. I agree with the above reviewer - If shopping and restaurants are important, rent a car.

If you plan to stay for quite a few days, you do need a car to get around.

If you are going to be there for only two or three nights, you might be OK without. There is a nice restaurant with a little shopping (souvenirs/ beach clothes) about 10-15 minutes walk. The resort has some food options, and there are activities and walk on the beach that will occupy your time.

But how will you get there without a car? We drove down the coast and stop along the way, so we rent the car. But once we got there, we only took it out once to pick up groceries and wine. Could have Ubered.

There are about a half dozen restaurants/bars within walking distance (1/2 mile) of Ocean Pointe along with a rather large beach/souvenir shop. Grocery store is about 2 miles way. Points of interest and other restaurants would require a car.
