We have not been there recently. We have family that lives there and they do in fact tell us that the marine life is turning up on the shore dead:(

We just left after a month in Bonita. Were never able to go to beach because of respiratory and red tide.

This is an ongoing and annual issue but this year is much worse than any in the past. The fish kill in the past two weeks has made most beaches off limits but currently every beach is day to day and wind and weather will dictate the outcome. This will be true of anywhere on the Gulf Coast from Bradenton south to Naples.

When we visited in April, there was red tide and that made it hard to breathe. We coughed a lot while we were walking the beach and even just sitting on our chairs under the umbrella - made us cough. We did not go back any of the beaches in Naples the rest of our time there. This was the first time in 14 years we ever experienced this.
