Hi Deb,

They have all types of trails here at Horsetooth from easy to strenuous. You might want to stop at the trails just east of the main entrance by the boat launch.

They have some of the best trail maps I have seen for any park in the main visitors lot describing the trails, length, and difficulty. You can go there first and then decide if you want to head back to the other parking lot by lake.

Just make sure to pay the $6.00 fee and don't leave any valuables in the open. Have fun!

You will be able to do it just fine, go early and bring water. There are tons of connecting trails so you don't have to go all the way to the tooth.

Sorry I didn't see this until just now. This is definitely a tiring hike but if you take it easy I think it is doable.

Not hard, I'm about the same. I like to keep my hikes below 3 miles.

This will depend on which hike you choose. The hike to Horsetooth Falls is nice and not exceedingly difficult.

No, if you walk three miles a day already, you should be fine. All sorts of different trails.

You do not have to be an avid hiker to do most of this trail. It is not steep and is easily traveled. As you near the top, the trail gets narrower and there are sections where you walk on top of large rocks embedded in the ground, but again, it is not difficult. As always on trails, one must watch your step, but if you walk 3 miles per day, you should have no trouble with this trail.

I bet you can do it! Take your time and I would recommend going early in the day to avoid getting too hot. Water is a good idea. You could also take the route to Horsetooth Falls which is just over a mile. Still beautiful and not as vertical for a good option. Enjoy!!
