Are any of the trails stroller friendly? We have a nice jogging stroller with decent tires.
No its dirt hiking, not stroller friendly sorry
Not that I saw. It was pretty rugged walking.
Not recommended. Check out the paths at City Park, Spring Creek Trail, or Poudre River trail. It's the foothills -- baby mountains.
You could go for a very steep hike up Tower Road. It will take you up to the top. It is a wide dirt road that many people jog up for the workout it offers due to it's steep incline. You'll be able to walk side by side or run if you like.
You can also try going to Soderburg Trail at Horsetooth Mountain Park. That is also a wide trail/dirt road that winds upwards.
Both are nice hikes or jogs.
Try the hills at a Spring Cayon Park before horsetooth to see how the stroller will do. Horsetooth is steeper and narrow.
People go with their bicycles. It has steep sections. My grandson surprised us being able to climb this. You have to experiment. I would take my grandchildren on other trails and the altitude would get to them. Spring Creek Trail is very good. I would also go to Rolland Moore Park first. Start on easier trails first. The city trails are all relatively flat and paved. Once you get outside the city the trails are steeper and full of rock outcroppings.
I would not recommend this for strollers as there are fairly steep rocky sections. There are many Fort Collin Natural Areas that would be better choices, including Riverbend Ponds and the trail to the cabin at Bobcat Ridge. Magpie Meander to McMurray is particularly good for children with ponds and river access and the parking lot adjoins a city park.
