Sonesta ES Suites Colorado Springs Questions & Answers

I'm looking for a family friendly and safe place to stay for 9 nights. I currently have a reservation at this Sonesta ES, however, I heard there was a shooting there? Did someone die? Was it nearby or on the suites' property? This concerns me, especially because I've got 3 children traveling with me. I may have to check on other properties. Bummer, because I was really looking forward to staying at this place.

From what I see on the news, that was over on Jet Wing Drive which is about 15 minutes drive south of Austin Bluffs and Academy, where Sonesta sits.

I was there for 28 days between March and April and I had a great time. The rooms are comfy, the appliances work, and there's lots of space. We had 6 suitcases so the amount of space was great.

I would recommend staying there. If you're on a tighter budget, or prefer to be a bit more to the north, there's a bunch of similar places around Woodmen road and a few on North Academy.

It was a random shooting, someone chasing another car. Very safe neighborhood for families. A rare unusual event.

It was an isolated incident on Academy Blvd (road rage idiots or something of that nature), which the Sonesta faces on one side. You can Google the incident to see further details (links not allowed on Trip Advisor).
