How is uber service in this area? We have used uber before in Napa and are wondering if there will be as many cars/as easy to use as that area.
You probably won't need to Uber unless you want to go to vineyards out of town. Sonoma is very small - you can walk to center town or take the resort shuttle. Take advantage of yoga and the hike that the resort offers!
We always used the hotel shuttle but there is Uber, can be pricey. It was $100 to go to a vineyard party on a Saturday night.
There aren't nearly as many Uber vehicles in Sonoma as there are in Napa. However, the Lodge does offer a complimentary shuttle service to/from downtown (town square).
We did not use Uber, sorry
I don't know. I had a rented car. But the hotel does have a van and they took me to dinner one night and picked me up promptly.
To get around to wineries best to get your own car. Uber is okay but not great. The shuttle downtown only gets you to shops and restaurants, not the wineries which are spread around the Valley much more than in Napa.
We rented a car in Sonoma, after we were told by others that relying on Uber in Sonoma could be tricky(expensive and not great coverage). The hotel does have a free shuttle to town, but if you want to visit several vineyards, we'd recommend either hiring a driver or using your rental car with a designated driver. Sonoma town is not far away, but if you are over 65, it seems farther!
We rented a car because we planned to go back and forth to Napa daily but Uber is in the area and the hotel has a shuttle. The distances are farther than you think looking at a map--it took us an hour to drive from Sonoma to Healdsburg
We did not use the Uber service while at Sonoma. We rented a car and hat a designated driver for each day. But, I will guess that the Uber might be similar to Napa, although, it seems more country living in Sonoma. Sorry I could not be more specific.
Enjoy your trip!
