I saw your review of the Crab Catcher. We made a reservation in advance, and would hate to get there and not be able to get a window seat. We are celebrating 23rd anniversary. Can you recommend other restaurants with views? Thank you
Just call the Crab Catcher and tell them it is your Anniversary and that you want a window seat, and they will reserve it for you. That it exactly what we did in advance.
I am in agreement that the Prospect would be another choice.
I also had lunch at a restaurant called Prospect which is down the street from Crab Catcher. It was up on the second floor and had a wonderful outdoor eating area with live music and a fantastic view.
Congratulations on your anniversary! Honestly, most of the restaurants next to Crab Catcher all have window seating. Another restaurant with great food and views (also right next door to crab Cather) is Eddie V's. I would definitely recommend that one as well.
Sorry, I can't. I was there on business and just happened to stumble across this place and loved it!
Jakes Del Mar, George's at the Cove, Chart House, The Marine Room all have very nice views of the ocean.
As the reviewer above indicated -- The Marine Room in La Jolla Shores has a great view. It's practically in the water. marineroom period com (no links allowed here)
George's is good - that would be my 2nd choice. georgesatthecove period com
Eddie V's is nice - but it's a chain - you visit Eddie V's in Kansas City.
I'm sorry I was there only for 2 days.
Try to tell them about your anniversary and maybe they can book one of the only 2 tables at the window.
Congrats on your anniversary and enjoy La Jolla!
There is not many view tables at the crab catcher. The red marlin has plenty of view tables with huge picture windows in mission bay on the water's edge. It is reasonably priced and has excellent food, try the scallops, they are the best in town. Watch the boats go by and the sunset.Tell them Captain Bob sent you.
We really enjoyed Tidal, which has a large patio right on the bay and the food was great. It maybe a bit casual for your celebration but I suggest you take a look at it.
The majority of Lajolla restaurants have views
If you do go to the crab catcher go to groupon and living social they almost always have 40-60% off ie 100.00 voucher for 40-60.00. But even with the voucher I prefer other restaurants.
Eddie V's is nice-it had better food and service than the crab catcher and good views.
Stella's is a nice Italian restaurant with views.
George's and the Marine room are both nice but more expensive.
google lajolla restaurants with ocean view to narrow the type of food you want, price etc.
Happy Anniversary! thanks for reading my review and reaching out to me! If you are willing to eat outside of La Jolla I strongly recommend Island Prime on Harbor Island or its sister restaurant on the patio at C Level . It's some of the most smashing views in San Diego of the water and downtown and the Coronado Bay Bridge. On Coronado Island, Peohe's or Candelas have fantastic views as well and in La Jolla you might also try Georges at The Cove! C Level seating is first-come first-serve but Island Prime accept reservations. Their lobster mac and cheese is out of this world. another suggestion would be Mister A's! It's views are from the top of approximately the 20th or 30th floor a building in Bankers Hill with fantastic views as well! I hope you have a great time! I'm pretty sure Peohes will actually reserve a window seat for you. At C level it's first come first serve and it may be at the other restaurants the earlier you get there the better opportunity you have to get that fantastic window seat! If you're coming to San Diego and you've never been there I strongly suggest you catch happy hour at the top of the Hyatt! It opens at 3:30 and the views from there will take your breath away. Just get there early so you can get a window seat! just another tidbit for you. If you are coming and it's near full moon watching the full moon rise from sea level is an experience you will never forget as the full Moon Rises behind the downtown San Diego Skyline and it's just a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Have fun! And if you have any other questions I'm happy to answer them. Jennifer StClair realtor
