Fusion Freediving Questions & Answers

Hi there,

Me and my friend is coming to bali this weekend. We have one day free, so was planning to go spearfishing. This is our first time doing spearfishing in our lives. Can you please send us the price list for fishing and equipment hire and if there is space available for this Sunday or Saturday, we would like to book. Please let me know. Thanks .

Gday Sam sorry we missed this :)

we do trips and training set at $250 per day - the spearfishing training day is designed for people with either no previous experience or pretty new and want to cover all the solid basics of gear, guns, terrain, safety considerations - both freedive risks increased by spearing and obviously gun safety, materials in general theory of the whole underwater hunting skillset, followed by early lunch and dry gun familiarisation looking at different gun types, and setups then to the water for 45min - 1hour of target training to put together the entire motor skill of sending spears into static underwater targets that we set up in the shallows.

AS soon as we are all confident with that its out the the nearby FAD's for 3 hrs of putting it all together and picking off some 1-2kg rainbow runner, amberjack, leather jackets, trippletail, but occasionally first timers have brought home 12kg mahi and wahoo =)

if youre already confident with diving and shooting we can speed up the morning side of things and get out to the deeper blue earlier, generally the further we go out the better things get as the fad's are further apart, but bigger wahoo, mahi and sometimes tuna can still be taken on the indside close in fad's.

with boats we have 2 x 9.5m larger local juking style rigs, 30 and 40hp, and provide lunch and water, ice fish bag, suncream, inwater guide with flasher and chum burley. The boats are happy sitting on 16-18knots which gives us faster access to the deeper fads.... Where the good stuff is.

FAD's - we own 5 - so are in the community of fad owners and typically do 12-15 different fad drops over the day, will stay on the ones holding more fish for maybe upto 40-45 minutes and the ones looking pretty thin spend as little time as possible on and skip to the next ones.

indo spearfishing charge $320usd per person per day and rent a boat half the size of ours and use fads belonging to the local fisherman... there isnt really a comparison.

If you are just doing our spearfishing trips then the $250 fee is the price for 2 pax - we dont charge extra for a mate/girlfriend/mum/moral support/cheer team/dog just a surcharge of 50% for a third spearo (so if its 2 spearos and a girlmate \ friend morale support its still just 250 - 3 shooters would be the extra 125 =))

Gear rental is normally $25usd for all freedive gear + $25-50usd (tuna style gear) for all spearing gear (guns - carbon/ally/wood railguns with our without reels, float + lines, gloves, knive) and we do them together for $40 per day - we also have a range of killer rollerguns - single and double, tripple, invert rollers - little bit more complicated - but well worth the extra power and range - but we recommend people stick to what they are comfortable using, especially if the blue water is new to them =)

so let us know what sounds good to you - if we dont reply immediately - we are probably our spearing =) =)

Great to hear from you and looking forward to taking you out to the blue
