Can any one tell me if it is worth paying the extra and getting a club room with free drinks. And how much spending money you will need for food / drink for 9 days we are not big drinkers are there lots of places to eat out many thanks Janet
Hi Janet. We had a Club Room (same as a Junior Suite?) I think and we were then given a free upgrade to a very large suite. I can't remember the cost but I do know that we used the free drink facility everyday we were there and enjoyed it. It entitles you to free coffee anytime I think and free cake/pastries in the afternoon. Its very convenient when you return to your hotel from the beach or a trip out. The alchoholic drinks option we used everyday also. If you are not a keen barfly and you don't need a buzzing experience its great to sit in the lobby bar and order a cocktail. There is a great selection and the quality is excellent and the staff are attentive. after our first visit they would always ask us if we wanted another before the free drinks period ended (can't remember when this was, 11pm maybe) We went to a bar in town once and it was a good experience with live music (think it was above restaurant mentioned by another person, Miss Ly maybe) but the place was completely filled with smoke already before some young Russians ordered hookah pipes. Just one minor disappointment, the free drinks option is not available in the bar on the top floor but the lobby bar is good. There is also a 'pub' I think but we didn't visit this so I don't know if you get free drinks there.
Janet, July will be very hot - high 30's, I was there three weeks ago and it was stifling hot. There are not too many English but thousands of Russians. Eating and drinking very cheap and the Sunrise is a great hotel.
There is no pub and the restaurant with bar above it is Yen's.
Hi Janet, I stayed at Sunrise Hotel along with my wife and my daughter, We did not have a club room, I don't think you need a club room unless the extra price is reasonable. The hotel is very good and food is not expensive all around Nha Trang, drink prices are reasonable too, except for wine and alcohol of good quality, most of them are imported and this makes the price go up.
Hi Janet There are many restaurants with good food at affordable prices. You can get a good meal for £5 plus 70p for a small beer. I recommend Lanterns and Yen's for Vietnamese food, Ganesh for Indian, Good Morning Vietnam for pizza and Cheers for British pub food.
HI Janet, we did not have a club room so i cant answer if the drink option is worth it. However Nha Trang has a vast amount of Bars and Restaurants within walking distance of Sunrise Hotel where you can enjoy cheap Local Beers (About AUD$2 and Cocktails AUD$5). You can also take advantage of the Happy Hour specials available in their Sky Lounge with amazing views. Like most Asian Countries the Wines are normally the most expensive to drink. We ate out each night where you can choose simple street food or fine dining, the fine dining is so cheap compared to Australian Restaurants. Hope this helps.
I don't know about the club room, but food and drink are not expensive in Nha Trang. My husband and I averaged about 50 USD/day for the 2 of us. Breakfast at the hotel was included in our rate.
I don't think club rooms are worth the extra, drinks are not expensive, many places to eat out, you turn to your right when leaving the hotel walk for 5 to 10 mins and there are lots of places to eat.
I am going to the sunrise at the end of July does any one no what the weather will be like. And what kind of cloths you wear. And will there be many English many thank
