Aristi Mountain Resort and Villas Questions & Answers

Hi! I am interested in visiting the resort, and am wondering how important it is to have a rental car. We're planning to fly into Ioannina, and it looks like transport can be booked through the hotel. If we spend a week at Aristi will we regret not having a car?

Dear Sarah,

Thank you for your preference in Aristi Mountain Resort & Villas, awarded as “Europe’s Luxury Hideaway Resort’’ for the year 2015, according to the World Luxury Hotel Awards, member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World and National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World.

We would like to inform you that Zagori region is ideal for people who love the nature and outdoor activities and there are plenty o things to do and see all year round. Transportation is always important in this region but there are plenty of suggestions and activities that you could do even if you do not rent a car as there are plenty of guided tours that we coud suggest for you and are ideal for guests who visit Zgori for the first time.

Please advise us your direct email in order to send you more information about guided tours, transportations and car rental options. We would also be happy to provide you our offer for accomodation if you advise us the dates that you wish to visit our Resort. In case you prefer not to write your direct email here you could send us an email directly at : info@aristi.eu.

We are looking forward to your reply.

Best regards,

Salatas Panagiotis

Hello Sarah,

Although the staff (especially Georgia, Thanasis, and of course Stella) are amazing and will do their best to ensure you have a great time, you absolutely need a car.

Enjoy your stay and say hello to our "friends" over there!

Hello. You will definately need a car as there are a lot of small but beautiful villages around which you should visit.

Sarah -

We just left the Aristi Resort today after having spent three days and four nights there. I would unqualifiedly recommend having a car. There is so much to see and quaint little villages to visit that you will not otherwise see. And the resort and its staff are simply awesome. Enjoy!

I think it's quite important but not absolutely necessary. The hotel itself is great for quiet and restoration, however you really must take a drive to Vikos and Papingko.

Hm, I think you need a car. You can walk to the point where you see the Vikos Gorge and you can walk to Small and great Papigi, but after you do these in two days, you would need a car to go further, like down to the river. Unless you like walking for hours.

Hello Sarah M, get a car for sure. The hotel is absolutely amazing, you will love it and love the views for everywhere you sit but there is so so much sight seeing, so much to do, so many cute delicious taverns to eat at and so many wonderful coffee spots to have a great cup of coffee with breath taken views, that you need car not miss out on anything. Trust me I have been there 3 times and I still haven't seen all of Zagorohoria (the area) and Ioannina, which is only a 20 minute drive away. Have a great trip.
