It sounds strange that people can leave their cars at the hotel for up to a week as they fly away. Is guest parking convenient or is there a shortage of parking?
Lots of hotels near the airport do this called park and fly. We do have a 24 hour shuttle to and from the airport. We are cheaper than the airport so a lot of guests choose to stay at our property the night prior and then take out shuttle in the am.
I was going to Texas and this was so convenient. There is reasonable parking at the airport, but our flight was early a.m. and we live pretty far out of the city.
We have done the park sleep 'n fly package about 7 times at 4 different hotels, but this was one of the best and we stayed the last 2 times we traveled. It has a small bar and restaurant so you do not have to leave once you check-in. When we stayed the people were friendly and our room was clean. The shuttle is convenient - you just tell them what time you need to leave for the airport and you call when you have your baggage in hand upon your return.
The hotel parking lot can be a bit crowded during heavy travel days (Mondays, Fridays), but there are enough spots to cover hotel customers and parking customers.
No parking is abundant. Many airport hotels do this. But...I had a horrible experience staying at that hotel & it's in a very weird location
I have no issues with it. Although the vehicles are out in the open so I can understand why some might not want to do it. But they are one of the only hotels that offer airport parking.
I think it is because it is convenient, though, I wouldn't feel safe with leaving my car there that long. I have heard some disturbing security issues about that hotel.
I've stayed here many times going to and from California for business and I have never had an issue with my room the shuttle or the parking. They have a great Bar and Restaurant and they even offered me a free drink at the bar when I checked in the last time for just checking in. My car has been fine.
YES, there can be a shortage of parking around holidays and busy weekends. This has been a problem most times we've stayed at this (and other local) hotels. Be prepared to park in a weird place like in the grass, or even in the entry driveway (this happened at another location, not the Wyndham Garden Pittsburgh Airport).
Many airport hotels offer such services.
