We are driving campervan to the garden, is there any campervan parking allocated, any charges?
There is no actual campervan parking as the gardens are in the middle of CBS, but there is normal parking available within walking distance.
There is free parking in the gardens car park I think it is only for 3 hours but is plenty of parking around the area as well.Do not leave valuables in the van.
There is plenty of on street parking alongside the park. I didn't notice any camper van parking, but there may be some in the car park just off the road that runs through the park.
This is a City that embraces Tourism, and the Council owns the Carpark. Hard to imagine you will have a problem. The carpark is an open air very large carpark.
Gardens has 3 hour free parking. Enter via Armagh Street Bridge over Avon River.
Hi... there is certainly ample parking but don't think there is camper van specific bays, certainly no hook up points or ability to stay overnight. If you have one of the standard camper vans which you can park in a standard bay, you should be OK. You can contact the Christchurch City Council on 03 9418999 for more information.
The parking was free at the Botanical gardens, with many parking places and most of them large enough to accomodate a camper van. We saw many there when we visited.
Sorry I can't post website but it is ccc.govt.nz/parks-and-gardens/christchurch-botanic-gardens/visit/getting-here/
Well worth a visit. The web page attached mentions 2 large car parks with 180 minutes free parking. If campervans not allowed, I am sure the side streets outside the park would work. We walked in along Memorial Ave and plenty of spaces.
