Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa Questions & Answers

Sydney Australia

I am looking at booking a holiday in October in Broome. I have been advised to carefully pick which time of year I travel, in particular when it comes to the beach. Any advice out there? Thank you.

I wouldn't hesitate, just book, pack and go. We are heading back to Cable Beach Club Resort in October ourselves. It is a fabulous time of year and we have never had any problems with the 'stingers' at that time. Also the Club has 2 lovely pools to relax beside if you prefer. Enjoy your holiday. It is a very special and unique destination with lots of things to go and do and see if you wish too, or just relax and unwind.

Two factors to consider. Firstly, avoid the wet season, not that it rains all day but it is sooo hot and humid. Also, a lot of Broome is shut! We were there in Feb 2015 (passing through) and the 'centre', which isn't large was a bit like a ghost town. We have also been in August in the 'dry' and the temp is much better and the town much livelier with more tourists. The second factor is safety in the water. The 'stinger' (jellyfish) season officially starts in November and goes through till about May so if you go in October you hope the creatures have not turned up early. Always take local advice about the situation in the water. Cable beach always looks beautiful - the locals will tell you if it is safe. For reasons of safety, climate and activity in the town I would recommend June-August but of course, that's when the accommodation is at its highest. Safety and relative comfort versus cost? Your choice.

We went there the day after the Easter Vacation finished, 7th April. (Couldn' t get in earlier because of easter). Wilst the 'stingers' in the water are meant to be there between December and April, it was certainly not a problem while we were there. We did ask the locals whethere it was safe to go and and were told that there hadn't been stingers around for a while. You can always check with the life guards on the beach. Another thing to consider is the cost of staying there. During winter there seems to be a much higher charge for rooms as people try to move to warmer climates for a holiday. January may be to hot for some. In April we had 32-34 degrees during the day. This suited us. Also I would imagine that school holiday's would be popular as well. Hope this is of some help.

Best time to go is in the dry season as there are stingers in the build up and wet. Most luxurious place to stay is the Cable Beach Intercontinental Resort
