What tends to be the general age range on this walk?... I'm thinking about going on it with my wife for my upcoming 40th.

Hi Jim,

Great idea for a 40th birthday. I think everyone else has answered this for me - average age is generally between 40 - 65, groups do vary though.

Cheers, Ros

There were 6 retirees on my hike, and some 40's, plus a younger 30's. It was fine, the guides are good with slower and faster hikers.

On our group in January, most of the clients were in their fifties to mid sixties. As someone said above most people with a moderate level of fitness will be ok on this walk.

Make sure you are properly equipped. Follow the gear list carefully. In particular have decent boots with a waterproof liner and gaiters. The path is very muddy in places!

I was 51 when I did this walk and our group were of similar age and we also had a lady who was 70. Age was not an issue it's definitely depends on your level of fitness and our group was a vey fun loving lot, so we had a blast and a fabulous experience doing this walk.

On the trip we made in March this year, ages ranged from 17 to 65. As others have said, moderate level of fitness required. Fabulous walk!

We are 71. Our lot ranged from mid 50s to us. We did ask the question of age and depends on group. Sometimes they have young teenagers. Wish I had done the walk when I was 40 with more energy. Fabulous walk though.

When I did the walk in January our group ranged from 30s to early 60s. On the way, we saw people of all ages. Definitely fitter the better.

This is not a difficult walk. Most people with moderate fitness could do it. Children to older people. Obviously fitter is better.
