Is the breakfast buffet really that bad? I have booked here for my partners birthday treat but I would hate him to be disappointed with his trip
When I was there the breakfast was 100%. The only gripe I had if you can call it that, is a full fry was on the menu with black & white pudding, when it came out there was none on the plate and no explanation
It's good but not brilliant for its 5 star rating. We have always had to queue and the service can be irritating. But they try their best, maybe we were unlucky.
as a regular here and sitting in it at present i can honestly say we have never had a problem with breakfast. we both ordered off the menu rather than the buffet this morning as we didnt fancy a fry this morning, the staff were constantly refilling the hot and cold buffet this morning.
as a regular here and some1 who is sitting in it at present i can say that this morning our breakfast was as good as always. We both had breakfast off the menu and not the buffet but did see staff constantly refilling the buffet cooked breakfast, as well as the cold buffet.
We found it OK, just if at a weekend you could have a queue. We were there on a Saturday morning and were up early enough and it was just OK. Would need to stick up more quickly would be my only thing, and more than one gluten free croissant etc.
Not sure if you are aware but there's also table service, you can order a hot breakfast or smoked salmon and poached egg and toast, French toast, porridge and that so there's a good bit of choice. If you have time I'd chill get a few bits if fruit and breads from buffet and order breakfast. We saw a few order a few courses to try different things from the menu.
Wouldn't say is bad - we just preferred it the other way - though some may like the buffet style!! Personal choice I guess!! Can categorically say neither of you will be disappointed with your overall experience. Truly 5* otherwise and as say your other half may love the breakfast buffet - we just preferred it when was brought to you but then again we are creatures of habit!! Have dinner in Catalina when you are there - world class!
i love the breakfast buffet and havent had any problems there. You will not be disappointed. We just had a problem getting drink in bar as it was incredibly busy - the staff said we had received it and charged us for it but deducted this when we explained. Some other guests got a free drink!! The breakfast room is lovely, the self service buffet well stocked with fresh local food and a great choice of cooked food. We have been 3 times and will be back. Make sure you walk arounf golf course - amaxing views. Enjoy.
