Hi. I am traveling to Heraklion next week and staying at the Sofia hotel for one night. I need to get from the airport to the hotel and back.
Please tell me how I can do this? Do I need to book something ahead of time?
Thank you so very much
Jessica
You can get a taxi, cost ten euros.we did consider walking, but with a heavy case, decided against it.
Thank you so much everyone. I really appreciate your help! Will I be able to change my dollars to euros at the airport? Clearly I am not an International traveler...
Thank you
Jessica
Hi Jessica,
walking is no problem. For me it's usually nice to het in touch with the new place. It takes abouth 15 minutes.
If you don't want to walk, grab a Taxi. They are in front of the airport.
It is actually walking distance, so just grab a cab, it will be super cheap.
No , there are plenty of taxis outside the airport at all times, the hotel is a very short ride away . When you need to leave the hotel the staff are very helpful and will call one for you.
Hope this helps, enjoy your stay !
A taxi will cost you ten euro which you can catch outside the main airport concourse. If travelling from the hotel the good folks at reception will order one for you. Local buses will bring you from/to the airport, the stop for the Sofia is Aliakarnassos (look for the IKEA), there are signs for the Sofia which is less than five minutes walk (slightly uphill).
Taxi 10 euro. Most buses stop near hotel. Get off opp ikea. Lovely taverna on main street 3 trees and shortcut to hotel just to left of restaurant.
Hi Jessica,
We walked to the hotel when we stayed there (10-15 mins) but there are lots of taxis outside of the airport and there is a public bus that stops right at the end of the street Sofia hotel is on. Hope this helps!
